12:02:51 ABC News Australia’s Mark Evans looks at the top 10 most ‘unworthy’ Twitter accounts and finds that ABC News Canberra reporter Luke Kelly is No.1.
“Luke Kelly’s been doing this for four years and his tweets are always on fire,” Mr Evans said.
“But he also has a habit of deleting tweets in which he doesn’t feel they are accurate.”
“In 2016, Luke Kelly posted this on the morning of the Australian national election,” Mr Wilson said.
Mr Evans said the ABC would “not be happy” with Luke Kelly if he deleted his tweets and “went on holiday”.
“He can’t be in Canberra this week, and then on the day he’s going to be there, he’s gone and deleted the tweets,” Mr Bell said.
“Luke’s tweets are pretty much worthless anyway.”
Mr Wilson said the “media frenzy” that greeted the news of Mr Kelly’s suspension was “pretty ridiculous”.
Mr Bell said the media frenzy surrounding Mr Kelly was “an example of why we need more transparency” in media reporting.
The ABC’s Luke Kelly has been suspended after being found to have been “unworthy” of coverage by the media, and he says he’s not worried about being suspended.
