A brutal attack on a minibus driver has led to a man’s death and a serious injury.
Fox 13 News has learned that the driver of a minivan that was attacked and killed Saturday morning has been identified as 24-year-old John Allen Moore, of Minneapolis.
Moore, of the 1500 block of South Lake Avenue, was attacked as he pulled into a parking lot near the intersection of North 4th Avenue and North 16th Street just before 6:00 a.m.
The attack left Moore with serious injuries to his upper body and head.
A spokesperson for the St. Paul Police Department said they are investigating the attack and that officers were called to the scene just after 9:00am.
Witnesses told investigators Moore was the victim of a vicious attack, with the attacker driving away.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the St, Paul Police.
“There is no indication this was a random act,” police said.
The attack was captured on surveillance video and is still being investigated.
It’s believed Moore was riding in a minicab that had been parked in a nearby lot when it was attacked, but the department did not have a description of the suspect.
